Keryn! The musical
When I was in Colorado two weeks ago, LaDale and I did a CD swap. We each borrowed six of the other's CDs. So over the last several days, I've been enjoying the soundtracks to the Lord of the Rings, Disney music, Celtic music, etc.
It's a funny thing, but I've noticed that I'm more cheerful and less frustrated when there is music on in the house (just to clarify, the Baby Einstein videos don't count). Maybe it's just the newness of this particular music, but I'm sure having a lot of fun with it. My imagination, which has sometimes languished with the kids and all, seems to have more to work with.
I think I need a soundtrack in my life. Or maybe a musical. When I'm chasing Ezra around trying to change his diaper, I could be accompanied by "Ride of the Valkyries". Or when I'm washing dishes I could hear "Whistle While You Work" or "A Spoonful of Sugar". Or when I have to get up in the middle of the night when Mercy or Ezra cries, it would be "Carmina Burana". And when Ezra's doing something he knows he shouldn't, the theme from "Jaws"...
What about you?
