Two Bright Lights

It has been a week of very mixed emotions for everyone. I wanted to take just a moment to record some very positive emotions I am feeling. Two people in our family deserve a special callout of recognition and appreciation with regard to all the little people running around.

LaDale, as always, has been wonderful. Having no direct responsibility for any of the children running around the house it would be very easy and natural for her to remain aloof from them and assume the attitude that "it's not my job." I know that I do this far too often! But LaDale jumps in and engages each child in a meaningful way and helps and herds. She does this without ever being intrusive or overbearing. A very difficult balancing act indeed and she does it with aplomb.

Tyler is continually found with a child in his arms. He is perpetually seeking them out and entertaining them and loving them. He has even less direct incentive to seek out this role being an in-law. Yet there he is. The rest of us seem to be doing well to keep track of our own children and here is Tyler keeping track of everyone's children!
