Katy's 2 week appointment

I know you all are just dying to hear about Katy's two week doctor's appointment...okay, so maybe I just want to tell you about it. =) It went really well, except the part where they had to prick her heel to get blood for the PKU test. She just wasn't bleeding very well, so they almost had to prick her twice, but they got enough in the end (which I am very grateful for...I hate it when she's pricked and starts to cry). Anyway, more important than that is her weight! As you know, she weighted 6 lbs 2 oz at birth. When we left the hospital, she was 6 lbs even, and still 6 lbs at 4 days old when we went in for her bilirubin appointment. I am pleased to say that it hasn't been just my imagination that she's getting bigger. She is 7 lbs 2 oz as of about 10:15 this morning, so she's gained a whole pound! I was very pleased. She's been eating really well and sleeping at least better than she used to be...I have to say that I am now a Baby Wise fan. I can't believe the difference even just doing it for one day made. Of course, she still has hard times, but at least they are fewer than they were. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know about Katy's excellent weight. It helps me feel like I'm doing something right, which always helps!
