I started about when Jenafer finished, my book having finally arrived, and just finished.
Church is going to kill me in the morning, if I make it through choir practice first.

I agree, I especially loved the end, everything wrapped up nice and neat and tied with a little bow! One thing, when Harry goes up to Dumbledores office and used the pensive, or after it all ends to talk to Dumbledores portriet, the book doesn't make any mention of a portriet of Snape, is he there or not? What is your opionion? I think he HAS to be there. He may have been appointed by Voodermort, but he did do his best to protect all of the students!

As Bradley finished the last paragraphs of the last chapter, I was pushing Mercy in a swing in a random park in Provo. And I thought to myself, "Well, that's it. It's done. What do I feel like?"
I realized that I felt the same way I do after eating a lovely, wonderful dinner after Fast Sunday--full, satisfied, happy...and wanting to go back and nibble on a few little parts here and there, just because eating was so fun and great. What a talented author!
Jen--I agree, Snape's portrait must be there, if not right away then eventually. Maybe the longer you were headmaster the bigger and more prominent your portrait was, and since Snape only got to be headmaster for a little less than a year his was pretty small.
I cried when Harry brought his family back from the dead. And when we discovered that his younger son--the one with Lily's eyes--was named Albus Severus. That was way cool.
I adored Neville's transformation from anxious follower to rebel leader--I cheered (literally) when he pulled the sword from the hat. And when Ron came back. And when McGonagall started chasing and cursing Snape. And when Kreacher led the house elves out in Master Regulus' name.
For me, interestingly enough, there was one tiny fact in the last chapter that stung me a little, and actually made the rosy, happy epilogue even more believable to me--the fact that you are still sorted the first day of the first year in Hogwarts. How nice it would have been if they stopped, as Dumbledore said, sorting so early. The thought of Snape's childhood really tore at me. But it was believable--the tradition of sorting, I mean, but so was Snape's childhood, unfortunately--because people don't like to change tradition. That's just human nature! But I loved how Harry told his son that it didn't matter at all which house he got sorted into. That was sweet.
What a long comment! What do you guys think? Telima is going to borrow my book tomorrow; she sent theirs with Tyler to scout camp so he could finish it. I guess they still have ten chapters, they couldn't help starting it but couldn't make it through it. So she'll be joining us in our discussion soon!

My $0.02 worth. Finished it yesterday, Monday, reading out loud with Caren. She read most of it to me actually. We had to re determine how late we were willing to stay up on Saturday and Sunday nights knowing that our boys wake before 6am and they would need us to be not cranky. We liked it a lot. Thanks.

A random thing just popped into my head as I have been scanning and waiting for my instruments to turn out what I hope will be a great image of my sample (crosses fingers). I put this random thought here as it is a spoiler for book 7. Anyone else realize that the three families with a Weasley parent all have at least one girl in the family? J.K. Rowling made a comment on her personal web site that Ginny in the first girl to be born to the Weasley clan for several generations. Mr. Weasley is one of 3 brothers in his family. It is not a far stretch to think of Ginny having a girl. But Ron and (assuming) Bill probably should have had all boys. Oh well. I guess the Weasley clan is in for more variety among the children.

Well, I'm done! I actually finished yesterday, while I was at Keryn and Brad's house for Pioneer Day. I loved it. I thought it was absolutely wonderful! I was telling Keryn that I thought for sure JKR would have killed more people, so I was surprised that as many of them survived as did. Also, I was a little disappointed in how little we saw of Ginny in the book, but that's okay. But I loved that we had a different person take care of each one of the Horcruxes, and I absolutely adored that Neville drew Gryffindor's sword out of the hat again and took care of Nagini! I thought that was so perfect.
Other things I loved about the book were: all three of them finally understanding why house-elves are the way they are; Kreacher (which I can honestly say I never thought I would love him); and Percy's reconciliation with his family. In short, however, I just loved the whole thing!

I don't know how to make it a link here, but you can copy and paste it. I was talking to Keryn yesterday about how we don't really know as much as we might like about life after Voldemort, specifically, what they all end up doing for livings, except of course, Neville. Well, this article says that in the future "sometime" JKR may write an encyclopedia for the Harry Potter world. Check it out!
