1995

I never felt very attached to my graduating year. 1995...yeah, that's nice and all. I suppose for me the significance of that year was finally becoming free from high school--hooray! (You would have to pay me at least $1,000,000,000,000 to go back to high school.)

I lettered, too, in cross country, but I was never interested in having a letter jacket (like Jen said, letter sweaters were terribly passe). Both my best friends, Kristy and Holly, spent considerable money on getting letter jackets, but I actually thought they were kinda ugly. (The jackets, not my friends.) Instead I bought a class ring, which I actually still wear from time to time. Does anyone else remember playing with Mema's and Daddy's class rings?

I remember when we lived on Banjo one of our neighbors gave me a faux gold necklace with a "77" pendant. I thought it was the coolest thing ever--who knew they made necklaces with your birth year on them? It wasn't until much later that I realized that, well, they actually don't make birth year necklaces. It was obviously someone's graduation paraphernalia. Oh, well.
