Mago
It will be a very long time before I eat in public again. This thing is either worse than braces or I have forgotten how horrible it was to eat with braces.
I received my mago yesterday. It is a thick plastic mold which fits over my upper set of teeth. I spent the first twenty-four hours with the piece adjusted so that only my front teeth could touch. In other words, no chewing on the back. It made for interesting eating last night and this morning. Today, they added something so that my teeth touch more along the sides. Even still, it was horrible eating dinner. I sort of feel like I'm relearning how to eat.
Now, let's talk about how to talk!!! S's and T's, not to mention Th's are quite interesting still. My dentist is tells me it will only take a week or so get use to that. I taught a piano lesson today and my student seemed able to understand most of what I said- at least when she didn't it was because I needed to explain something not because the words were too jumbled.
I go in every week until my jaw settles back where it is suppose to be. Who knows how long that will take, but the more consistent I am with it, the sooner it will be done and my jaw will be 'cured'- hopefully sooner than later!!!!
