Re: Great Teacher

I would have to agree with Jen. That article said a lot of the things that I knew and feared about the teaching profession. I, probably like many of you, saw many 'great teachers' in our own K-12 experience that got shoved aside and beaten down by 'the school board' or even principals in my case. It sure is hard to do the job you love to do when everywhere you turn people think you are a glorified babysitter. I would have to say that in this years experience in the 7th and 8th grade classrooms I am in those students think school is worse then a root canal. From what I have heard from our sister, LaDale, I would say the effort she puts in to her job and the great ideas she has for teaching would qualify her as a 'great teacher' in my book. I do have a current plan to spend some time as a high school teacher in the far future because I enjoy the interaction with the students. I hope I could be as good of a teacher as those I look up to in the profession. There, I have had my say on this topic. Peace out. SKT
