Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mothers day to all the women in our family!

Well, it's my week, so I will start with a Mother's day post. This morning I got all the little gifts and cards that the teachers have been prompting my children to fill out all month. Yea, teachers! Jacob gave me a little book that said things like... "My mother's favorite food is...." and then he filled in the blanks. Apparently Jacob feels that my favorite food is Mac and Cheese and that what I do best is Laundry! Heather gave me a 3-D card of butterflies and flowers and Erica's was a sand paperweight and Lillian gave me a card with construction and glitter flowers on it. Benjamin is past the age of teacher prompted cards so he gave me nothing!

For breakfast I was served a delicious meal of slightly overcooked eggs with slightly undercooked bacon, of which I ate every bite! (Except for those few sections of bacon that I threw to the dog.) After breakfast I got to go downstairs and supervise dishes and the complete preparation of my dinner feast. Jeff has never used the crock pot before and was a little nervous about it, but he did great. Then he asked me to supervise him making cookies for all the mothers he home teaches. They are now all done and it's time for baths for little girls so we can get ready for church.

The men in our ward decided to take over everything for the women in the ward. They are doing primary, young womens, even the lesson in Relief Society. They assigned men to take over the library and virtually every other calling in the ward, except mine. I am the single woman in the ward who does not get the day off. I still have to play the organ. Sigh. I suppose there isn't a man in the ward who can take it over for me!

I love hearing the children sing on Mother's Day. It always make me teary eyed. So... How was everyone else's Mother's Day?
