Church

Today was my first day as organist. Technically, I was supposed to get one more week to practice, but when we got there, there was no one playing prelude and Sis. Parker, the person who had been doing it, wasn't there, so, I played. That's ok. I actually enjoyed myself after the initial terror.

I actually had someone come up to me after church today and tell me how much she appreciated the fact that I actually kept the tempo up on the hymns. Our old organist dragged, quite a bit actually. I tend to have the opposite problem. I have to remind myself to keep things slow on the sacrament songs and such.

I also did a semi emergency sub for the primary chorister today. She woke up sick this morning. I was sitting there waiting for us to start, watching the teacher who took over my old class work with her new class. Typical Sunbeams. One was screaming for his mommy, one was refusing to sit down, two were hitting each other and the last two were sucking their thumbs. She looked at me and sighed and said, "Last years class was so much better behaved!"

I'm afraid I laughed at her! I told her, "Not in January, they weren't! They grow up allot in this year!"

I'm not entirely sure she believed me!
